About the Role
Inline USA is seeking a skilled and experienced CAD Technologist to provide on-site design and drafting support for our field crews in Yellow Pine, Idaho starting June 1, 2026. This role is responsible for preparing Civil 3D models, generating drawing packages, integrating survey data, supporting project coordination, and ensuring quality deliverables.
This position follows a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off fly-in fly-out (FIFO) rotation. While on rotation, the CAD Technologist is expected to be on-site for the full duration of the shift and available to support operational requirements as scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
Champion Safety & Foster a Culture of Care:
Participate in site safety meetings, follow site-specific requirements, and lead by example to promote a strong safety and quality culture. Your awareness and diligence will ensure that all designs and field activities are executed safely.
Deliver CAD Drafting & Design Excellence:
Prepare Civil 3D design models, drawing packages, and reports for industrial and civil projects, including surface grading, roadways, and concrete/steel details. Incorporate survey and UAV datasets into design adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards.
Support Project Coordination & Team Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and multi-disciplinary teams to meet project timelines and client requirements. Assist site leads in supervising survey teams, reviewing timesheets, and maintaining quality control records.
Be the Design Liaison in the Field:
Effectively communicate with clients, drafters, and supervisors to maintain strong professional relationships. Your presence ensures design intent aligns with field realities and project expectations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 5–10+ years of experience in construction survey drafting with strong Civil 3D skills and quantity reporting knowledge.
- Civil Engineering or Geomatics diploma, proficient in TBC (Trimble Business Center), UAV Pix4D, Global Mapper, and Microsoft Excel. Programming knowledge is an asset.
- Comfortable working on-site in Idaho; able to lift up to 50 lbs and travel as required for project needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a high-performing team environment.
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification (Adult/Child/Infant) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
