CAD Technologist (Civil/Survey Drafter)- Fly In/Fly Out
Inline Group Inc. has an immediate opportunity available for a highly skilled CAD Technologist (Civil/Survey Drafter). This is an on site based position that is on a 14/14 rotation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with an exceptional management team within a supportive and collaborative company culture on this large Mega Project site. Key Accountabilities
CAD
- Fluent in typical Civil 3D functions as well as knowledge of utilizing corridors (roads, rail, etc.), subassembly creation, grading, and handling large data sets
- Coordinate and complete drafting assignments with project managers and engineers from initial project stage to project completion
- Efficiently work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prepare design models, drawing packages and check design parameters of other team members and client representatives
- Follows Inline Group Inc practices and prescribed project standards with the understanding of shared work on multiple project scopes
- Take direction from other Senior Technologists, Engineers and Project Managers
- Produce detailed Reports for Clients on Industrial Sites (Concrete, Anchor Bolts, Steel Etc.).
- Civil 3D quantities tracking including surface grading, roadways and associated details
- Integrating site surveys to make design adjustments and produce drawings for turnover documents
- Post processing and working with UAV datasets for quantity tracking and engineering design deliverables.
Surveying
- Assisting the Site lead in managing a team surveyors
- Assisting with reviewing and approving daily LEMS (timesheets)
- Performing QC record and maintain daily field notes of survey activities to align with Inline standards
- Perform various aspects of industrial & civil survey tasks accurately and efficiently
- Effectively communicate with the Client, Drafters and PMs/Supervisors
- Facilitate and maintain strong positive client relations
- Actively participate in Inline ISO 9001 Quality Program
Minimum Qualification, Experience & Skills
- Completed Civil Engineering/Geomatics Diploma
- 5-10+ years in construction survey drafting
- Creative and resourceful
- Critical problem-solving skills
- Extensive working knowledge of Heavy Civil CAD processes and quantity reporting
- Working knowledge of TBC (Trimble Business Center)
- Working Knowledge of UAV Pix4D and Global Mapper
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel
- Programming knowledge is an asset
Fly In, Fly Out (FIFO) Project Highlights
- Projects are in remote areas throughout Canada.
- Accommodations and meals are provided at zero cost to the employee.
- Fully paid flights or a flight allowance are provided to the employee to assist with transportation to and from the project site. Flight arrangements will vary depending on the worksite.
- 80% more over time than a traditional 40-hour workweek (10–12-hour workdays)
- Scheduled work shifts (IE. 14 days on, 14 days off or 14 days on, 7 days off). Shifts will vary depending on the worksite.
