Automation & AI Solutions Specialist
Focused on Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot, and business workflow automation.

About Inline
Inline is a rapidly growing civil engineering field services company operating across Canada. We support major infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects through surveying, materials testing, and geotechnical services.

We’ve grown quickly, and now we’re focused on scaling how we operate—not just how we grow.

This role is about building the systems that power that next phase.

The Role
We are looking for a hands-on builder to implement automation and AI across the business using the Microsoft ecosystem.

You will work directly with operations, finance, HR, and project teams to identify inefficiencies and build solutions that eliminate them.

You are someone who prefers implementing working solutions over designing theoretical ones, and you’re comfortable operating in a fast-moving, real-world environment.

What You’ll Do
1. Build Automations
  • Design and deploy workflows using Power Automate
  • Eliminate repetitive administrative tasks across departments
  • Integrate systems (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.)

2. Build Internal Tools
  • Create applications using Power Apps
  • Improve how teams manage projects, data, and reporting

3. Deploy AI & Copilot
  • Implement Microsoft Copilot / Copilot Studio
  • Build AI-assisted workflows
  • Train teams on how to use AI effectively

4. Partner with the Business
  • Sit with teams and understand real workflows
  • Translate business problems into practical solutions
  • Rapidly prototype and deploy improvements

5. Drive Adoption & Change
  • Ensure solutions are adopted and used across teams
  • Influence leaders to embed automation into daily operations
  • Continuously refine solutions based on feedback

6. Establish Automation Standards
  • Create scalable, secure solutions
  • Build governance around Power Platform usage
  • Document and maintain systems

What Success Looks Like
Within 6 months:
  • High-impact workflows automated across core functions (10-20 core workflows automated)
  • Proposal and reporting processes significantly streamlined
  • Measurable reduction in administrative time across teams
  • Clear, prioritized roadmap for ongoing automation and AI adoption

What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Power Apps
  • Power Automate
  • Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Proven track record building real, business-facing automations
  • Ability to work directly with non-technical teams
  • Strong problem-solving and execution mindset
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and moving quickly

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with Copilot / Copilot Studio
  • Experience with Dataverse and/or Power BI
  • Background in consulting or building solutions for operations teams
  • Experience in engineering, construction, or field services environments

What This Role Is NOT
  • Not an IT support role
  • Not a traditional software engineering role
  • Not a people manager
  • Not a strategy-only role or oversight role.
  • Not focused on maintaining legacy systems

This role is about building and delivering solutions quickly that have real business impact.

Compensation
  • Dependent on experience
  • Bonus tied to impact and performance
  • Opportunity to grow into a leadership role as this function scales

Why This Role is Unique
  • Direct access to leadership and decision-makers
  • Ability to implement change quickly (no heavy bureaucracy)
  • High-impact role across all areas of the business
  • Opportunity to build the foundation of AI and automation within a growing company
