Job Overview:
Inline Group Inc. has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior EHS Advisor located in our Acheson office, within our Operations Team.
 
The Senior EHS Advisor is responsible for implementing and overseeing EHS programs at Inline Group Inc. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with an exceptional management team and within a supportive and collaborative company culture.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  •  Interface with site personnel to identify hazards, and to develop and implement corrective/improvement measures. This could include the review and approval of specific work permits, as well as participation in incident investigation teams, safety audits, design reviews, process safety reviews, project review teams, and/or job task analysis.
  • Prepare resolution strategies and action plans, provide written documentation of site issues and resolution strategies with pictures documenting activities, before and after issues, make presentations to management on H& S on activities and manage actions to deliverable dates. Draw data from performed field inspections and incident investigations for company metrics, internal reports and lessons learned communications.
  • Promotes proactive safety participation by all employees and ensuring injuries, illnesses, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions are reported and investigated.
  • Develops, implements and maintains environmental, health and safety programs and policies to meet or exceed compliance with National, Provincial, and local regulations, internal policies and customer requirements including environmental, safety, transportation, security.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance and supporting continual improvement under the ISO 9000.
  • Participate as a management member of Joint Health and Safety Committees.
  • Assists with workers compensation claims and associated activities, develop return to work and modified work programs.
  • Mediate health and safety issues, manage accident/Incident investigations to resolution.
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct specialized H&S Training. Support on-the-job H&S meetings by providing assistance, direction and resource materials as needed, to enhance overall effectiveness and impact.
  • Participate in emergency response planning, preparation, and efforts. Assume the role of H&S officer during emergency response exercises, drills, and events.
  • Assess incidents for proper classification, facilitate root cause analyses of reported incidents such as: near misses, personal injury, or vehicle collision Management of violations of H&S regulations and codes, make recommendations for corrective actions, and follow-up to ensure implementation and monitor effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Skills and Experience:
  • 5-7 years’ experience in the construction industry in a Health and Safety role
  • Know and manage the EHS corporate safety program
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related safety management and/or supervisory experience
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is an asset
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and/or Certificate of Recognition (COR) Auditor required.
  • National Construction Safety Officer Designation (NCSO) required.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, Able to interact with all levels of management
  • Detail-orientated
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Advanced computer skills with proficiency in use of MS Office products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Able to travel to various project locations across Canada (as needed up to 20%)
